This book should be a must-read at all high schools and colleges to show everybody just how far our society has progressed in terms of the treatment of women.I fear for the women who have to live by the laws in this book.The chapter on jealous husbands and what they can subject their wives to was frightening.There was plenty of violations of women's rights throughout--how a man gets to enjoy and control his wife's property and has all rights to her labor and handiwork and even anything she finds.And he gets to inherit all her property.And needless to say none of these rights are reciprocal.Also if she doesn't perform all the household duties and personally wait on her husband he gets to "scourge her with a rod".Then there's the stuff about sex with three year old girls (and under)and much much more.But I don't want to give it all away.Please read it.I gurantee you'll be horrified.And Maimonedes was supposed to be this great genius!
